What is autism? Is it a disease? Can it be cured? Do only children suffer from it?

Many people around us may ask themselves these questions when they think about autism. Our knowledge about it is usually very limited. According to the World Health Organization autism affects 1 in 100 children. This means that there are 400,000 people with autism in our country! In addition, the United Nations has recognized autism as one of the world's most serious health problems - along with cancer, diabetes and AIDS!

That’s why April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day, which inaugurates Autism Awareness Month. It’s an opportunity to educate society about autism (or ASD, which stands for autism spectrum disorder), as well as to support and show solidarity with people suffering from this disorder.

How can we do this?

First of all, it’s important to spread knowledge about autism, especially among the youngest. Autism is not a disease but a neurodevelopmental disorder.

It is also good to know that blue is symbolically the color of autism. Every year, on April 2, many cities, institutions and companies around the world join the "Light up blue for autism" campaign. We encourage all of you to join the action by dressing in blue that day!

For the next year in a row, we decided to actively help people suffering from autism by organizing a donation for the residents of “The Life Farm” Residential and Educational Centre in Więckowice run by the Community of Hope Foundation. "The Life Farm" is a center for permanent residence, work, therapy, rehabilitation and recreation for adults with autism. More information can be found at: https://farma.org.pl/english/life-farm/.

We are pleased to announce that we have finished our PKF donation, that was supported by 40 people! Thanks to the involvement of PKF employees and their relatives, we managed to collect a total of PLN 8,000 !!

We would like to thank you for every donation! Another year in a row you have shown that you are not indifferent to helping people in need :)
