The Second Edition of “Finance Connects – Students & Business” at Lublin University of Technology Has Come to an End

How can students prepare to enter the job market in a world shaped by rapid technological change, automation, and artificial intelligence?

This was one of the most frequently discussed topics during the second edition of “Finance Connects – Students & Business”, held at the Faculty of Management of Lublin University of Technology. The event brought together students, business representatives, and finance industry experts, creating a platform for discussions on future skills and the professional challenges facing the younger generation.

Concerns about launching a career in an increasingly dynamic environment emerged repeatedly throughout both the panel discussions and networking conversations. Students are highly aware of the expectations of today’s labour market, which made their engagement, openness, and active participation especially encouraging.

Representatives of PKF Polska shared their knowledge, professional experience, and practical advice on building a career in the finance sector:

  • Elżbieta Misterek, during her presentation on careers in accounting and the accompanying panel discussion, encouraged students to ask questions and remain curious. She emphasized that even in the age of AI, a strong understanding of fundamentals and analytical thinking remain essential.
  • Magdalena Chachaj, introduced students to the specifics of working in audit, highlighting career development opportunities and the benefits of choosing this professional path.
  • Ewelina Mika, during the HR panel, answered questions about recruitment processes, CV preparation, and the use of artificial intelligence in job searching. She also encouraged students to actively develop their professional presence on LinkedIn.
  • Justyna Żuchnik, shared her own career journey. Following last year’s edition of the event, she began an internship at PKF Polska and today works as an Assistant. She spoke about her first year in the profession, the projects she has been involved in, and the opportunities available at the beginning of a professional career.

Throughout the event, discussions focused primarily on the practical aspects of working in the finance industry, the challenges associated with process automation, the growing role of AI, and the impact of regulatory changes. We hope that the knowledge and experiences shared during the event will help students better understand the realities of the job market and make informed decisions about their future careers.
